Eco-Friendly Transport: How to Make Cities Cleaner and More Comfortable

Published 04.02.2025

Switching to electric transport is not just a fashion trend, but an important step towards a greener future. More and more people are realising the need for such changes, as they can significantly improve the quality of life. A VCIOM survey showed that 43% of respondents see great prospects in this direction. Buyers of new cars are increasingly paying attention to environmental friendliness, as electric cars do not emit harmful substances, which helps to reduce air pollution and slow down climate change.

The number of electric cars in Russia is growing every year, although the infrastructure for charging them still leaves much to be desired. The lack of convenient charging stations remains one of the reasons holding back the mass spread of this type of transport. To solve the problem, an open professional association ‘Siberia Charges’ was established, initiated by Siberian Generating Company.

Since 2022, the Siberia Charges network has been using exclusively Russian-made charging stations. To date, more than 60 such stations have been installed in residential neighbourhoods of Krasnoyarsk. Every month, about 80 cars use the services of the stations, with full recharging taking just over three hours.

The project was honoured with the National Ecological Award established by the Vernadsky Foundation.
