For two days, the team from the V. I. Vernadsky Foundation held lectures on environmental education at the Children’s Technopark “Mendeleev Center”. This is a unique space where children take their first steps in science. Under the guidance of experienced teachers from the D. I. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology, they conduct chemical experiments, master 3D modeling technologies, and determine their future vocation.

What were the discussions about?

Day 1:  “Eco‑professions of the Future.” The participants discussed how a passion for ecology turns into a lifelong career and analyzed which specialists will shape the “green” agenda in the coming decades.

Day 2: “Chemophobia and Environmental Education.” The lecturers from the V.I. Vernadsky Foundation debunked the myths about “chemistry” and figured out why people are afraid of it. We also answered the question: “Are environmental changes needed in education?”

We were glad to see the kids’ eager eyes and their genuine interest in issues of sustainable development!

We thank the Mendeleev Center Children’s Technopark for organizing such a platform, where a new generation of responsible professionals is being formed. Together, we are developing the country’s environmental culture!
