Andrey Cheshev, Deputy Director General of the Vernadsky Nongovernmental Ecological Foundation, joined the jury of the third season of the RUDN University Best Lecturer Professional Skills Competition. The event was held at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (the RUDN University).
The participation of the Foundation’s representative highlights the depth of the strategic partnership between the organizations and confirms the commitment to work together to raise educational standards and support teaching talent.
The competition is aimed at unlocking the teaching potential and it was held in a hybrid format. The participants competed in four scientific fields: from natural sciences to social sciences and humanities. The key evaluation criteria were information content, oratory, presentation logic, and the ability to build a dialogue with the audience.
“It is an honor and responsibility to be a member of the jury in such a competition,” said Andrey Cheshev. These were not just lectures, but master classes on involving students in the learning process. The sincere reaction of the audience and the large number of questions about the topic of the lectures after the speeches are proof that the competition is achieving its goal. The formats of competitions for university teachers and professors have proven to be an effective tool for recognizing their achievements and replicating best practices. The partnership between the Vernadsky Foundation and the RUDN University represents many years of systematic work. The Foundation is a traditional partner of the Institute of Ecology of the RUDN University, supporting educational initiatives. University students regularly become scholarship holders of the Foundation, and specialists from the environmental services of the founding companies receive targeted training in additional professional education programs at the Institute.
One of the symbols of cooperation is the annual participation of Olga Plyamina, Director General of the Foundation, in the graduation ceremony for environmental graduates. The RUDN University representatives actively participate in key events of the Foundation, from All–Russian conferences on environmental education to the Vernadsky National Environmental Award, where students and teachers of the University consistently demonstrate high results.
