This last Sunday, Zaryadye Park turned into a real center for environmental education, where the team of the Vernadsky Foundation and members of the Youth Association organized a rich and exciting program. Interactive lectures and games attracted the attention of both children and adults – everyone could find something interesting and useful.

The program started with two dynamic lectures in a small lecture hall. Natalia Korshunova, a member of the Foundation's Youth Association and a graduate student at Lomonosov Moscow State University, revealed the main secret of responsible tourism. The participants learned how to create eco–friendly routes and follow the principle of “Leave no trace”, because it is important to respect and protect nature! The lectures "Ethics of Responsible Trips to Nature" and "Eco-tours in Russia" won the hearts of both those who specially came to listen, and random passers-by who stopped with interest, asked questions and actively participated in the discussion.

No less exciting was the hybrid game “Eco-Professions of the Future”, where children and adults were able to truly immerse themselves in the world of environmental professions. In the first part of the game, the participants were acquainted with the environmental professions of the future, and in the second one, they tried to solve real problems in this area. This format helped to feel how close and realistic a career in the field of sustainable development could be.

In the evening, the Festival guests were invited to an interactive game "Secret Inhabitant of Protected Areas", which was also conducted by members of the Youth Association Eva Spitsyna, graduate student of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Marina Nikolaeva and Yaroslav Olympiev, undergraduates of the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. The participants learned more about Russian nature reserves, rare and endemic animals, and the team struggle made the process even more exciting. Each player left with a commemorative postcard with the image of a protected inhabitant – a pleasant souvenir.

As a result, there were a lot of positive emotions and thanks going from the participants of the Vernadsky Foundation program. In total, the organizers counted about 100 people who attended the Foundation's events, which confirms the high relevance and importance of the topic of environmental education. The Wonders of Russia Festival of the Russian Geographical Society is open to visitors until July 20, 2025, and awaits all guests who are ready to plunge into the atmosphere of adventure, knowledge and inspiration.
