The V.I. Vernadsky Ecological Nongovernmental Foundation participated in the 9th International Gathering of Friends of the Protected Islands "Zapovednaya Parma" conducted from October 13 to 18 in Perm. The event brought together more than 300 environmental activists and professionals from Russia and abroad working in the field of nature conservation.

In collaboration with the V.I. Vernadsky Foundation, Gazprom Transgaz Chaykovsky LLC, and the Municipal Enterprise "City Green Construction" of Perm, a large-scale photo exhibition titled "Green Islands" was organized as part of the gathering. The exhibition featured unique natural areas of the Perm Territory and included a series of high-quality photographs by photographer Evgeny Demshin, capturing iconic natural locations in the region, as well as other specially protected natural territories.

"The professional level of the photos presented deserves attention not only from regional, but also federal audiences. This photo project has a potential to be included in the exhibition of the All-Russian Festival ‘Pristine Russia,’ a partner project of our Foundation", noted Andrey Cheshev, Deputy General Director of the V.I. Vernadsky Foundation. He also mentioned that this photo exhibition was not the first successful collaboration between the V.I. Vernadsky Foundation, Gazprom Transgaz Chaykovsky, and the Perm City Green Construction in implementing joint environmental projects in the Perm Territory.

As part of the business program of the Forum "Business for the Good of Nature," the V.I. Vernadsky Foundation presented successful examples of collaboration with specially protected natural territories, carried out by the Foundation together with its founders and partners from business companies. In this forum session, the Foundation was joined by its partners from major Russian companies and corporations with whom it had developed long-standing partnerships.

The week-long International Gathering became an effective platform for exchanging environmental practices between schoolchildren, students, teachers, eco-educators, representatives of public organizations, municipal and regional authorities, environmentally responsible businesses, Russian and international experts, and representatives of international organizations. The event's program included educational, sports, and cultural activities aimed at finding solutions to pressing environmental issues.
