INTERACTIVE MAP OF ECOLOGICAL EMBRACES OF RUSSIA→
All-Russian competition “Ecological emblem: know in order to preserve”
The aim of the project is to create — the first interactive map of environmental coats of arms of the Russian Federation constituent entities and settlements.
In each of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in every large town and small settlement there are unique natural objects that deserve to become symbols of the originality and fragility of the nature of this region.
Participants of the “Environmental Emblem: to Know to Save” (EcoGerb) All-Russian Contest help to identify environmental symbols of Russian constituent entities and settlements of the Russian Federation and enshrine these symbols in environmental coats of arms.

Objectives of the Contest
- to draw the attention of Russian citizens, especially of the younger generation, to the territorial and biological potential of our country – the diversity of flora and fauna of different territories of Russia;
- o encourage the project participants to explore the nature of their region
- to represent the natural wealth and resources of the region, settlement
- to show the fragility and vulnerability of environmentally significant objects
Contest dates
April 01 – July 31, 2023 – call for applications
August 01-31, 2023 – work of the Organizing Committee
September-November 2023 – work of jury, summing up the results, announcement of the Contest winners
Conditions for participation
Any citizen of the Russian Federation or a group of persons aged 7 years and older can participate in the Contest.
The design can be represented as a digital or hand drawing of environmental coat of arms.
- to fill out the online form,
- to attach a file with the drawing in accordance with the selected nomination category.
Nominations
- Environmental coat of arms of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation (the objects for creating an environmental coat of arms are the representatives of the biological and natural-territorial diversity of the chosen constituent entity)
- Environmental coat of arms of a settlement of the Russian Federation (the objects for creating an environmental coat of arms are the representatives of the biological and natural-territorial diversity of the chosen locality on the territory of the Russian Federation – city, town, urban-type settlement, village, etc.)
Age groups
- junior (7-12 years old)
- middle (13-18 years old)
- senior (18 years old and older)
Awarding
All participants who have submitted an application in accordance with the requirements of the Contest rules and regulations will receive Certificates of Participation.
The winners of the Contest will be awarded with memorable prizes and Diplomas of the Winner.
The awarding will be held offline or online in 2023.
